The Queens

Las Reinas (The Queens)​ series is a suite of allegorical self-portrait performances where I transform myself into imagined royal archetypes anchored in personal trauma.

Bargain Basement Sovereign

2012-2013 – Dressed in regalia, this queen invited spectators to present trash “offerings” as an examination of submission and resilience in Latinx culture.

2013 – This performance examined safety, hyper vigilance, and overprotection as byproducts of surviving domestic abuse.

2014 – This performance addresses the delicate balance of strength and fragility of motherhood, self care, independence accepting of help in crisis.
